Leica Camera announces partnership with Goodwood Revival and presents a varied programme of photographic activities
Every September, motor sport fans come from far and wide to the Goodwood Revival, the legendary classic car event – an action-packed weekend of historic motor racing, period theatre, music and more.
The three-day event in Chichester, West Sussex UK, centres around the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, which was originally in use from 1948 to 1966. Taking its cue from the style of this era, Goodwood Revival began in 1998 – and features sports cars, motorbikes and aeroplanes from the 40s, 50s and 60s. Visitors to this unique event also celebrate a magical step back in time and most will come dressed for the occasion in stunning, authentic outfits from the era. The owner and organiser of this historical event is internationally-acclaimed photographer and Leica fan, Lord March.
For the second year running Leica Camera is partnering with the Goodwood Revival from 11–13 September 2015. From an array of historic equipment on display to the iconic M-System and cutting-edge binoculars, visitors are invited to meet the team at the Leica ‘shop’ on Brooklands Lawn and discover the legendary event through the Leica lens. The Leica ‘shop’ will also feature a vintage-style photo studio, where visitors will have the opportunity to be photographed in their flamboyant outfits by a professional Leica photographer. The photo studio will be open throughout the event from 10.30 am to 7.00 pm. Leica cameras and binoculars from the current range will also be available to try out and purchase.
For those who are unable to attend the event, Leica Camera has been granted special access by Goodwood for two photographers to document the event, both public and behind the scenes. Dan Rubin (photographer and designer) and Kim Leuenberger (photography student at the University of the Arts in London) will attend the festival capturing the excitement and special moments with a Leica camera. Dan and Kim’s images will be published on their Instagram accounts and across Leica’s social channels.
