Leica S (Typ 007) Firmware-Update with new features

Leica Camera AG, Wetzlar, has released a new firmware update for the Leica S (Typ 007) camera. Registered camera users can now log in to the Leica owners’ area and download the firmware version (https://owners.leica-camera.com) or take their camera to a Leica Store for a free update and receive answers to any questions they may have.

The improvements in this firmware update include an automatic lens update. Lenses with older firmware are automatically recognised and updated. Further optimisations affect user-defined button programming for the Live View button and the shutter release button, that can now be programmed for AE lock. Also new are improved symbols for camera settings. The AUTO-ISO setting is now displayed on both display panels, video recording (REC) is displayed on the panel on the top deck and GPS and WiFi are displayed as icons on the panel on the back of the camera. The new firmware also includes several improvements of camera performance.
