The new special edition in distinctive design: the Leica M-P ‘TITANIUM’ Set

With the Leica M-P ‘TITANIUM’ Set, Leica Camera AG adds a new limited edition camera to the Leica rangefinder system portfolio. This is the fifth annual edition to be made with titanium, a metal that lends the camera and lens set a particularly distinctive and refined look. The set consists of a Leica M-P digital camera (Typ 240) and two lenses – a Leica Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH. and a Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. – and will be offered in a strictly limited edition of 333 examples.

For this special version of the Leica M-P the top deck, the baseplate and the control elements are machined from solid titanium. This particularly resilient and hardwearing material underlines the already robust character of the M-Camera and makes it around 90 grams lighter than the standard production model. Other distinguishing features of this annual edition of the Leica M are the classic Leica script engraved on the top plate and a special edition serial number on the accessory shoe indicating the camera’s position in the series. Its elegant appearance is rounded off by body trim in full grain leather with outstanding grip and a matching leather carrying strap.

The titanium anodised finish of the Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH. and APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. aluminium lenses is perfectly matched to the camera; the distances in feet on the focusing scale and the focal length engraving are picked out in red. Both lenses feature a special serial number. In the case of the Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH., this on the retaining ring of the front element and, on the APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH., it is engraved on the bayonet ring.

In all other respects, the performance and technical specifications of the camera and lens of the Leica M-P ’TITANIUM’ Set are identical to those of the equivalent serial production products. The Leica M-P offers all the technical advantages of the Leica digital rangefinder system cameras and possesses the same enduring and robust qualities for which the Leica M-System is renowned. With its compact size and exceptional imaging performance, the fast Leica Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH. is the ideal wide-angle lens for reportage photography. Its outstanding speed makes it particularly versatile and delivers brilliant imaging results even in difficult lighting conditions. The Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. impresses with the perfect interaction of all its design and construction parameters, from its optical calculation and the choice of materials to the sophisticated and elaborate manufacturing and finishing of the lens. It is considered to be the reference lens amongst standard focal lengths and delivers unrivalled resolution and sharpness.

The Leica M-P ‘TITANIUM’ Set is available from October in selected Leica Stores and Boutiques.
