Festival de Cannes 2015 - Leica and Libération present Fred Stucin

Leica Camera is delighted to be partnering with the French daily newspaper Libération to present Fred Stucin’s images of the Festival de Cannes 2015.

A founding member of MYOP, French photographer Fred Stucin was a longtime photojournalist before deciding to focus exclusively on portrait photography. His most recent personal project captures the faces, allure and incessant movement of the people in Las Vegas. Fred is represented by the agency Pacoandco.

During the Festival de Cannes, Fred will be using the Leica M and Leica M-P to shoot portraits of actors and filmmakers, and capture the athmosphere in Cannes, allowing Libération readers and the Leica community to discover the iconic film festival from a different perspective. The resulting images will be shared daily on Instagram and on the website of Libération.

Leica will also be represented by our colleagues from CW Sonderoptic. They  will have a Leica M  Camera fitted with a summilux-c cinema Lens for demonstration and test purposes  in Cannes.  Leica lenses were used in the filming of numerous major feature film productions over the last three years, including movies like Birdman, The Theory of Everything, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Gone Girl, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Two films in which the Summilux C lens were used are part of the official competition in Cannes:

- Le tout nouveau Testament (the brand new testament) by Jaco Van Dormael, photography Christophe Beaucarne (Quinzaine des réalisateurs)

- Les deux amis by Louis Garrel, photography Claire Mathon (semaine de la critique)
