Owners can have their standard M9 bodies upgraded with the special product features of the Leica M9-P. In addition to the replacement of various camera components, this upgrade also includes a 12-month warranty extension. With this offer that lets current owners of M9 cameras take advantage of the latest developments in the M-System, Leica Camera once again proves their commitment to full system compatibility and the enduring value of the M-Series.

Product Features of the M9-P

Technologically at the same high level as the successful Leica M9, the M9-P offers special product features that can now soon be added to the standard model. These include an extremely scratch-resistant cover for its LCD screen made of almost unbreakable sapphire crystal. Users can also take advantage of another characteristic feature of the M9-P, its minimalist and discreet appearance, and let us modify their M9 accordingly.

Interested M9 owners can choose between two different upgrade options

 

‘Sapphire glass' upgrade package

The ‘Sapphire glass' upgrade package offers the replacement of the M9 monitor cover with the superior-quality sapphire glass cover of the M9-P. This package is available in Germany at a recommended retail price of €750, including VAT.

 

‘Top deck and sapphire glass' upgrade package

The second option, ‘Top deck and sapphire glass', offers the replacement of the monitor glass, the top deck and baseplate by the respective components of the M9-P. These are available in a choice of two finishes: black paint or a traditional silver chrome version. The silver chrome replacement option also includes replacement of the leathering of the M9 with the vulcanite trim of the M9-P. This package is available in Germany for €1,250, including VAT.

M9 owners can order upgrades for their cameras at Leica Customer Care in Solms and at Leica Service Partners in the USA, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. Owners bear the costs of shipping their cameras to Leica. Within the EU, camera owners can take advantage of the fast or express service at an extra charge.
